NBC Bans In My Bed, Shakiti Bobo, Fans Mi, Gbese & Other Songs

The Nigerian Broadcasting Commission ‘NBC’ has released the list of banned popular Nigerian songs for containing vulgar lyrics and having obscene videos 2015.  

In a memo sent to media outlets yesterday, August 18, 2015, a NTTB (not to be broadcast) label was placed on 18 songs which would stop the songs from airing on terrestrial Radio and TV stations.  The banned songs include Olamide’s monster hit, ‘Bobo’, Davido’s ‘Fans Mi’ where he collaborated with US rapper, Meek Mill, Phyno’s Yayo, Tony Montana by Naeto C featuring D’banj, Wizkid’s ‘In My Bed’, Lil Kesh’s Gbese, Ibadi by May D, and Iyanya’s Gift featuring Don Jazzy.

Most of the banned songs have been on the airwaves for several months and achieved massive successes since their release. The songs however will continue to air on cable or pay TV platforms such as Hip TV, Trace, MTV, Channel O and many others.
